These are the units that i will add to my WordPress:

• Unit 1-4 Intro
• Unit 5 – Audio
• Unit 6 – Visual
• Unit 7 – Interactive
• Unit 8 FMP
• Year Two

Type of work

The type of work i will put on are:

• A bio where i will talk about myself professionally to show people who i am and the kind of person i am to make myself seem unemployable.
• All the units that i complete that will have my written work on there and the links to my workbooks for unit 1- 4
• It will also contain any videos and stills i produce.

What else should it contain

It should also contain the link to your youtube channel so it’s easy to access the videos i’ve produced. So that people can see what i’ve made and be impressed by it.

Why is it a good idea to have an online presence – how will i use this in future

Having an online presence is useful because it can help  to get your work seen which will improve your chances of making it in the industry. Having this website will help with future work and uni applications because i will be able to use it as a portfolio to show all my work.

Why is WordPress a good choice to host this work? Think about what you can do on it, costs, abilities and limitations

WordPress is a good choice to host this work because it is free, meaning it is very accessible and you get a good service without having to spend loads of money. It’s also very simple and easy to use meaning beginners can use it with no problem. This means you don’t need to know code or anything fancy to use it especially because it has a plugin architecture and template system. . Also it’s extendable with plugins which mean you are able to add bits of software onto your website which is very useful. However some limitations of WordPress are that it has a lot of updates in order to keep your website secure, but these updates might bring with them some small problems meaning you might have to revert to an older version of WordPress. Also websites made on WordPress can be vulnerable to hackers so you have to be careful when choosing plugins. The templates can also contain a lot of unnecessary generic code which can slow down your website. Also it costs to add on things. Finally, unless you have a detailed knowledge of WordPress it is very difficult to customize your website and if you do it can have some faults with it.
